One of our specialties is property rehabilitation and turnaround. Urban renewal is important to us, as we strive to better our communities by working with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and various state and local agencies. Through innovative financing and government subsidy mechanisms along with improved management practices, and a focus on the property's capital needs, we set up these properties for successful long-term operation.
Historic Adaptive reuse
WinnDevelopment is an award-winning national leader in the
adaptive reuse of historic properties and landmark structures.
During the past three decades in Mid-Atlantic and the Northeast, we
have transformed 28 historic properties into more than 3,100 units
of mixed-income housing in mixed-use communities valued at $500
million. We recently completed the $20.7 million transformation of
the historic Livingston School in Albany, NY, into 103 units of
mixed-income housing for senior citizens. We also are in the midst
of a 10-year effort to renovate the iconic, 12-story Sibley
Building in downtown Rochester for commercial and academic uses, as
well as market-rate and affordable housing.

Our innovative approaches to sustainability are recognized throughout the multi-family industry and our award-winning green projects demonstrate our commitment to excellence — and to the planet.
