Dependents of 10 Team Members Also Earn WinningEdge Academic Awards

Boston (August 27, 2025) – WinnCompanies today announced it has awarded $70,000 in scholarships to 60 residents of its managed apartment communities, as well as 10 dependents of company team members, to help them pursue post-secondary education at colleges, universities, or professional trade schools.

Of the 60 resident scholarship recipients for 2025-26 academic year, 42 live in apartment communities managed by WinnResidential in California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Washington, D.C. The remaining 18 recipients live in privatized military housing operated by WinnResidential Military Housing Services in Alaska, Hawaii, Kentucky, New York, and Texas.

“The WinningEdge Scholarship program offers a downpayment toward a bright future for residents and the loved ones of team members,” said WinnCompanies CEO Gilbert Winn. “Since we started the program in 2012, we have awarded over $900,000 in scholarships to support hundreds of people pursuing their academic goals. We’re happy to have this opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to improving the lives of the people we serve.”

The scholarship awards were made after WinnCompanies’ non-profit partner, uAspire, and an internal committee evaluated resident applications, including transcripts, essays, and personal references. Recipients were selected based on their academic performance, financial need, and demonstrated leadership in school, community, or place of work.
